Project Description

Imagine strolling along tree-lined streets, shopping in trendy boutiques, dining at an outdoor cafe, and watching the July 4th fireworks on the National Mall from your living room. Now, image this and much more growing up from an empty lot at 9th and H Streets in the heart of downtown in Washington, DC.

The development team that is redeveloping the Old Convention Center Site — a 10 acre, $1 billion venture – is an accomplished team of local, national and international firms.

Bundy Development Corporation (BDC) is co-developer and an equity member of the development team, which is led by master developers Hines and Archstone-Smith. The Development team also includes: A-1 Construction and Consulting, LLC; Guttman Management, Inc.; The Jarvis Company; The Mayhood Company; Neighborhood Development Company and Triden Development Group. Internationally renowned Foster and Partners is the lead architect. This development team offers an unparallel record of achievement in architecture, landmark development, city planning, urban design and management of residential, retail and recreational properties throughout the world.

Plans for the Old Convention Center Site call for a pedestrian-friendly, urban neighborhood. The development will have more than 280,000 square feet of retail, 464 rental units, 222 condominiums, approximately 450,000 square feet of office space, and parks. In addition, there is another 111,000 square foot parcel along New York Avenue that is to be developed in partnership with the District of Columbia Government.

The first phase of development is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2011. For more information, visit www.oldconventioncenter.com.
